I guess not:
"Three days' worth of polling after the news broke that Sen. Barack Obama said some small-town voters are "bitter," he has edged out to his largest lead yet in Gallup's daily national tracking survey."
In general election trial heat match ups, both Democratic candidates now have identical, and slight, 46% to 44% margins over presumptive Republican nominee John McCain. -- Frank Newport

Much to the chagrin of the Rovian, GOP masses, voters are apparently intelligent to enough to figure out what Barack meant (the fact that politicians have been using issues that are near and dear to rural America... like religion, gay marriage, guns, abortion and the flag... to get people to the voting booth, allthewhile pulling the economic rug out from under them) in lieu of what the right-wing and Clinton propagandists want them to think he meant (that rural Americans only care about religion, guns and illegal immigration because they're upset).
I can't wait until John McCain brings this up at a debate and McCain doesn't have Lieberman there to whisper the answers into his ear. My prediction? McCain gets frustrated, calls the moderator a cunt, and punches Obama in the neck.
