Saying that it's the "media's fault" for creating this faux fiasco.
I suppose their position in as follows: The media should not focus on her political record, her shocking lack of ANY experience whatsoever, her radical far-right views, her energy policy, her lunatic Christian beliefs and the anti-Semitic Pastor that instilled them, her ongoing ethics issues, her connections to disgraced Alaskan politician Ted Stevens and the money that got him in trouble, her lying about the "Bridge to Nowhere", her failed "Abstinence Only" policies, her climate change denials, her problems with basic American History (the pledge etc.), the fact that she's been out of the country once in her whole life, the fact that she is a 72-year-old heart "episode" away from running this country, and her masturbatory love for oil drilling and the associated corporate bedfellows. To do so is partisan hackery. The truth can only tell you so much.
Instead, the media should focus on the following: Her gender, the fact that she's a hockey mom, the proximity of Alaska to Russia and the profound effect it has on her ability to lead the nation's armed services, and the fact that she sold the former Governor's airplane on eBay. To do anything else is sexist and "demeaning to women".
Gotcha. Although it sounds an awful lot like the "but he seems like the kind of guy that I'd want to have a beer with" type logic that got us into trouble with Bush Jr.
UPDATE: Notice no mention of the alleged membership in the AIP. The story has been corrected, she wasn't a member of a fringe organization that advocates for the cessation of Alaska from the US, her husband was and she simply attended the conventions in 1994 and 2006. For shits and giggles I'm sure.
Hat tip to Sayanythingblog for clearing that up. Much better.
